Synopsis
A man and a woman, each heartily disliking the other, are the sole survivors of a shipwreck off the African coast; washed ashore, they walk through the jungle toward civilization, quickly learning to help each other. After 18 days of fever, pain, hunger, and exhaustion, they come across the plantation of a demented scientist, who gives them food and shelter; the scientist takes a fancy to the woman and attempts to kill her disabled companion. The woman kills the scientist, and she and the man find their way to civilization. The woman discovers at the British Consulate that her husband has died, leaving her penniless, but she quickly finds consolation in the arms of the man.
