Synopsis

Jackie, a Russian waif in London who studies dancing, is noticed by Mervyn Carter, a wealthy young American who is struck by her talent and makes an appointment to see her. But Jackie's teacher apprentices her to Bowman, manager of a troupe of strolling players. Jackie becomes friends with Benny, a crippled boy, and when Bowman attempts to assault her, the two run away to London, where Benny plays an accordion and Jackie dances for a living. In the neighborhood of his sister, Carter finds them, sends Benny to the hospital for an operation, and arranges to have Jackie trained for a stage career. When she becomes successful, Bowman demands that she fulfill her contract with him and threatens to kill Carter, now her fiancé. She tries to buy off Bowman and is rescued from his clutches by Carter, who punishes Bowman and throws him out. Benny regains his health, and Jackie marries Carter.
