Synopsis
Mont Blake, who controls the town of Sundown, is about to hang Shorty Hillis, a jockey who has drugged his racehorse. Rose, the jockey's sister, who is forced by her stepfather, Joe Craddock, to work in Blake's saloon, interferes; but Shorty is saved by Baxter Brant. At Craddock's ranch, Baxter forces the stepfather to protect Shorty and Rose, then proceeds to his father's ranch to help ferret out rustlers. Blake, who is in league with Craddock, forces him to surrender the girl, then is himself killed by Dodds, who kidnaps her. Baxter sends Shorty to bring his father, Silas, to apprehend the rustlers; and after a bitter fight he subdues Dodds and two other men, supposedly the Brants' faithful employees. Hair Trigger Baxter and Rose find happiness together.
