Synopsis

On a hunting trip in the Adirondacks, Ralph Van Cort meets Rose Hale, who lives in the mountains with her aunt and father. When he is badly injured in a fight, she saves his life with a transfusion of her own blood. Upon returning to New York, Ralph finds that his fiancée, Viola Shepard, has wed a wealthier man, namely, Stephen Van Cort, his uncle. Ralph marries Rose, but after several years resumes his affair with Viola. Stephen discovers a note from Ralph to his wife which suggests that the two plan to dine privately at an inn that evening, but Rose precedes the jealous husband to the hotel in time to warn the lovers. Having allayed Stephen's suspicions, Rose returns home with her little boy Russell, but she is pursued by Ralph, who begs for her forgiveness.
