Synopsis
Cliff Lawson and his sister, servants in the home of Martin Wayland, an elderly millionaire, cause Wayland to evict his son Harry by forging a check and blaming Harry. Having convinced Wayland that his son, who has disappeared, is dead, the Lawsons present Elinor and Sonny, Harry's alleged widow and child, hoping to claim Harry's inheritance and, eventually, the old man's fortune. Elinor is a poor widow who has been duped by Lawson into believing that Wayland is dying of loneliness and that her presence would be a comfort to him because the real widow cannot be found. Wayland becomes fond of Elinor and her son, and he makes out his will in her favor. Harry returns, exposes Lawson's scheme to his father, fires both the servants, and marries Elinor.
