Synopsis
In seeking to escape the man who lured her to a notorious roadhouse, Barbara Rand, one of a poor but proud Southern widow's two daughters, jumps through a window and loses her sight. Her sister Natalie, determined to find and punish the man, sadly abandons her fiancé, Ned Gardiner, and marries Oliver Landis, who can provide the money needed for Barbara's operation. Never dreaming that it was Oliver who attacked Barbara, Natalie confronts his business partner, Howard Pollard, who had innocently taken Barbara to the inn for dinner. As she is threatening to shoot Pollard, Oliver arrives and promises to take care of the supposed villain. In the ensuing struggle between Oliver and Pollard, the latter falls from a cliff to his death. When Barbara returns from the hospital, Oliver tries to blind her once again by removing her bandages prematurely, but Natalie appears, brandishing a pistol. Wresting the gun from her, Oliver, who realizes that he can no longer hide his guilt from his wife or the police, shoots himself, leaving Natalie free to marry Ned, and Barbara avenged.
