Synopsis

Katie Standish, who has always been the family drudge, finds motherhood added to her responsibilities when her sister and brother-in-law die in a train wreck, leaving seven small children. For help in raising her nieces and nephews, Katie goes to Mexico to stay with her uncle Dan, who is there on a mining expedition. When she arrives, she meets Dan's partner Oliver Putnam, who had been her childhood sweetheart. Then, while Katie and Oliver are falling in love all over again, bandits attack Dan's house. With all of the grownups gone, the children manage to hold off the bandits until help arrives, after which Oliver makes a fortune from his mine, and then marries Katie.

Notes

The film was copyrighted as Let Katie Do It, but all reviews call it Let Katy Do It. According to the synopsis in the copyright descriptions, the film was based on a novel by Granville Warwick. "Granville Warwick" was a pseudonym of D. W. Griffith, but no information has been located to confirm that he did, in fact, write any novels under that name.
