Synopsis
At the prompting of her ambitious family, Virginia Carter marries wealthy Jordan Southwick, but she is haunted by regret and the memory of her true love, Robert Whitney. She remains loyal to Southwick, but he, nevertheless, prompted by her brother, Boyd, begins to suspect her of an affair with Robert. Troubled by doubt, Southwick decides to test Virginia's loyalties by arranging a yachting cruise, with Robert on board. The yacht is wrecked, and Virginia and Robert are rescued by a rumrunner, whose brutal crew he must fight to protect her from harm. When they finally return home safely, Virginia, believing Southwick to be lost at sea, consents to marry Robert; Southwick returns, however, and, finding his wife in the arms of his rival, signs on with the sea captain who rescued him, leaving the young lovers to find happiness with each other.
