Synopsis
At a dinner celebrating her betrothal, Olivia Martindale's lament that romance no longer exists draws forth rousing tales from the male guests about their romantic quests. After Olivia, whose engagement has been arranged against her will by her parents, says she wishes to be wooed by a man who, like those of the chivalrous past, has to scale "the heights of hazard" to win a woman, she is abducted by a masked man to an apartment where he reveals himself to be a handsome gentleman. After giving her a whistle and a pistol, he asks her to listen to his story. He has her telephone her father to come without the police, and relates how he met her in Colorado, lost her trail, and after striking gold, came East to continue his search. When he read about her engagement, he kidnapped her out of desperation. They are kissing when her father arrives. After asking his name, Olivia introduces the man as her future husband.
