Synopsis

Peter Minuit, a member of the "400" and a descendant of New York City's first citizens, is tired of having nothing to do but spend money and seeks adventure in Hell's kitchen. Posing as "Gentleman George," a safecracker, he accompanies Spike Malone to that notorious district, where he makes the acquaintance of crooks and falls in love with Spike's sister, Mary. Gang leader Bud McGinnis also seeks Mary's favor, and his power keeps Mary's admirers at a distance. Peter takes boxing lessons; and, though Mary has consented to marry Bud to save Peter and Spike, the pseudocrook administers a beating to Bud and takes Mary to his Fifth Avenue home to be his bride.
