Synopsis
When well-born James Barton loses $50,000 at cards to three sharpers (Doc Mellis, Henry Ryder, and Chick Watson), his sister, Margaret, sets out to recover the post-dated check he was forced to give them. Bob Ferris, a wealthy bachelor, falls in love with Margaret and assists in her effort to help James. Doc Mellis is murdered by Ryder, who then holds Jimmy as a hostage; Margaret and Bob find Jimmy, only to be captured as well. The three captives are shut up in a burning warehouse, but they manage to escape and take Ryder into the courts of law to stand trial for murder, kidnaping, and arson.
