Synopsis

Broadway star Fay Leslie rejects the marriage proposal of Paul Atkins, a dancing partner from her vaudeville days, and marries wealthy Don Hampton, whose socially prominent parents object to having a "theater person" in the family. After the honeymoon, Hampton's jealousy of Atkins is kindled when Fay dances with Atkins at a nightclub party given for the newlyweds. Accused during the party of stealing a diamond necklace found in his pocket, Atkins is arrested, found guilty, and sent to prison. Because she believes he is innocent, Fay gives Atkins aid, thus arousing her husband's suspicions. Atkins escapes from prison and seeks refuge in Fay's bedroom, where her husband finds them (innocent enough). Hampton decides on divorce, but he still loves Fay, who, when given an opportunity to prove her innocence, clears both herself and Atkins.
