Synopsis
During World War I, a spy known as "1932" is commissioned by the German Secret Service to trail English agent Captain Woodhouse to the Straits of Gibraltar and there effect the destruction of the British fleet. Before his departure, 1932 helps Jane Gerson, an American girl falsely accused of espionage, and later falls in love with her. In Egypt, 1932 secures Woodhouse's clothes and identification and proceeds to Gibraltar. The governor of Gibraltar is led to suspect "Woodhouse" by British agent Billy Capper and Jane, who is his houseguest. In the end, Jaimihr, a Turkish servant employed by the governor, is revealed as the true German agent, and 1932 is identified as Captain Cavendish of the British Intelligence Bureau, who is now free to turn his attention to Jane.

Notes
A review for this film in February 1918 states that it was the first film produced by Delcah Photoplays, Inc. No information has been located concerning the film's release at that time. World Film Corp. acquired the film, which they stated was originally intended for the state rights market, and released it on August 26, 1918. Reviews at that time stated that Pyramid Film Corp. produced the film. One review states that it was presented by the Inter-Ocean Film Corp., which was a distributor of American films abroad. Some sources list the film as five reels in length. The play was the basis for the 1930 RKO film Inside the Lines, which starred Betty Compson and was directed by Roy G. Pomeroy (see AFI Catalog of Feature Films, 1921-30; F2.2715).
