Brief Synopsis

A young man, told by a psychic that he will die soon, puts his affairs in order and begins to enjoy and treasure life. However, the appointed hour of death passes without his demise, and he begins to suspect something is awry.

Synopsis

Although Raymond Van Seer is blessed with both health and wealth, he is unhappy and contemplates suicide. His friends tell him about Mrs. M. who tells fortunes, and although skeptical, he visits the seer. His doubts are effaced when her prediction of a slight accident comes true, and Raymond becomes a believer. His second visit gives him a scare, when she tells Raymond that he will meet with sudden death on a certain date. Meanwhile, Raymond has met Phyllis Woodman and his life has become very dear to him. Raymond is awaiting the final hour bravely but regretfully when at the last moment he discovers that his friends have arranged the whole affair to teach him a lesson.
