Synopsis

By night, Mr. Browning, a man of wealth, masquerades as Red Harrigan, a common frequenter of saloons. He soon becomes the notorious leader of an underworld gang in Detroit. After Browning experiences a series of escapes from the police and a famous detective, involving car chases and a dive into the Detroit River, the detective learns that "Harrigan" is really his own brother, and that the reason he began living a dual life was to find and reclaim his sibling.

Notes

This film was produced in Detroit and used a number of Detroit citizens in prominent parts. Most of the interiors of the film were shot at the residence of Dr. H. N. Torrey at Grosse Park Shores. Other Detroit locations filmed were the Detroit River, East Side tenements, parks and homes on Woodward Avenue. According to contemporary sources, this was the first motion picture made in Detroit. It was filmed in the summer of 1918, and had its premiere there on December 15, 1918.
