Synopsis

During an attack on a caravan by his marauding desert band, Ali Zaman, seeing his enemy, Foreign Legion officer Captain Beverly, with Ethel Lambert, knocks out Beverly and takes Ethel for revenge. After she discovers that Zaman is white, he arranges for her return, and then leaves the band himself, thus angering his comrade Jouder, who lusts for Ethel. Zaman assumes his past identity of Foreign Legionnaire Captain Rand and falls in love with Ethel. When the jealous Beverly denounces Rand as a dishonored former officer who had an affair with another officer's wife, Rand leaves without an explanation. Meanwhile, Jouder lures Rand into a trap. After Ethel follows and is captured, Rand rescues her. They are pursued by Jouder's band until Beverly, learning of their plight, informs the troops and after confessing that Rand took the blame for his own misconduct, sacrifices his life for them. Just as Rand is about to kill Ethel to save her from Jouder, the troops arrive.
