Synopsis
At a North West Mounted Police post in Hudson's Bay, Edith Graham returns from school to live with her father, Lieutenant Graham. Edith finds herself courted by two suitors, Corporal John Emerson and Reginald Annesley, the latter of whom is a wealthy purchasing agent for the post. Annesley's pursuit of Edith is encumbered by Marie, a half-breed with whom he is having an affair. When Marie informs him that she is carrying his child, Annesley kills her and accuses Emerson of the crime. Edith, doubting that the corporal is capable of such a deed, investigates and discovers Annesley's picture at the murder site. Feigning admiration of Annesley, Edith then wheedles a confession from him within earshot of Emerson and her father.
