Synopsis
Accused by his business partner, Decatur Burnham, of dishonesty, Donald Grey dies from shock. Grey's daughter Florence resolves that the best way to avenge her father's death is to destroy the career of Burnham's only son Alan. Becoming a siren, Florence succeeds in leading Alan into a life of degradation, and when his father begs him to leave the woman who is destroying his life, a fight ensues between the two men in which Alan knocks his father unconscious and leaves. Meanwhile, Frank Lyon, the real swindler, watches the fight and, after Alan leaves, kills Burnham. Lyon then goes to Florence's apartment and in a drunken state, confesses that he killed Burnham and was guilty of the crime of which her father was accused. Just then, Alan returns after finding his father's body and assuming that he is responsible. Florence hides Lyon and admits Alan, who tells her that she is the cause of his father's death. Florence then confesses her love for Alan, who almost believes her until he finds Lyon and accuses her of being unfaithful. Florence explains that she was holding Lyon for the police, and Alan accepts the story as well as Florence's love.
