Synopsis

At the urging of his uncle, who heads the secret service, Dick Stansbury sets out to capture the elusive Dr. Montell, a foreign spy. To have access to Montell, Dick poses as the inventor of a new gun that will revolutionize warfare. Realizing the possibilities for the weapon, the usually cautious Montell lets down his guard for a moment and, while making an exorbitant offer for the gun on behalf of a hostile foreign government, asks for a demonstration. Dick gladly sets up the weapon and, now armed with evidence that Montell works for an enemy of the United States, threatens to use the gun on the doctor if he refuses to give himself up. Having gotten his man, Dick then sells the gun, which actually is completely useless, to a curio dealer for fifty cents.
