Synopsis

Actress Louise Martel, on her way to visit the Prince of Seyre at his country estate, is compelled to seek shelter at the home of brothers John and Stephen Strangeway when her car breaks down. Louise accepts John's warning not to visit the dissolute prince, and the next day she returns to the city. John, smitten with the actress, soon follows, even though he believes in the family superstition that foretells that evil will befall all who foresake the hills. The prince also returns to the city and continually seeks the companionship of Louise, but loses her affections to John. In an attempt to break up the romance, the Prince tells John that Louise has been his mistress. Crushed, John returns to the hills, but Louise follows and convinces him that the prince lied. The couple then marry and settle down to a life in the hills.
