Synopsis

Years after Barry Thornton disappears from Panama while under suspicion of stealing American defense plans for the canal, his daughter Eleanor, now the ward of Barry's twin brother Dana, is still obsessed with the mystery. Senator Carew informs her that he has solved it, but he is murdered before he can give her the details. Evidence implicates almost everyone connected to the senator, but when authorities arrest Eleanor, she can no longer protect the real murderer, and tells them that she saw Dana kill Carew. Then, Barry reappears, and, before finding Eleanor, confronts Dana, who has escaped from the police. The brothers discuss the fact that years before, Dana had stolen the plans and then managed to have Barry accused of the crime and thrown in a South American jail. Barry then convinces Dana to do the only honorable thing, and after the latter's suicide, Barry arranges a reunion with Eleanor.
