Synopsis

After the election of Robert Rodman as governor, Dallis Alvoid, son of Rodman's companion Mary Alvoid, becomes a trusted employee in a bank. Dallis is discouraged when Lucy Rodman, his sweetheart, is courted by the wealthy Ralph Hadley. Thomas Walsh, a gambler and blackmailer, leads Dallis to gamble with bank funds and permits him to win; later, when the boy falls in debt to him, Walsh offers to cancel the debt if he gives him a plan of the bank. Harry Jackson, who is being blackmailed also by Walsh, shoots him, and when Dallis discovers the body, circumstantial evidence points to him as the murderer. Dallis is sentenced to death, but Lucy brings word of Jackson's dying confession and he is saved.
