Synopsis
Fosdick, a New York society man of weak character, joins a band of lumberjacks in the North Woods, where he is disliked by his mates and the foreman, Jim Barnes. Marcia Judd, though admired by Barnes, falls in love with Fosdick, and they are married. Fosdick soon becomes discontented and abandons her, however, but returns when oil is discovered on her land. A plague strikes the Lost River locality following his return, and Fosdick runs away when Marcia is taken ill; but he falls victim to the plague and dies. Marcia recovers and finds happiness with Barnes.
