Synopsis

Clay Norton and Duke Fuller, partners in a mining venture, both love the same woman, Agnes. Angry at Clay for forcing him to return ill-gotten money, Duke contrives a situation in which Agnes sees Clay with another woman, and misrepresents the facts so that the brokenhearted Agnes agrees to marry him and leave the mining camp. His life ruined, Clay becomes an embittered drifter who roams the West looking for his betrayer. Years later, he wanders into the small town where Duke runs a gambling palace and is about to force Agnes to become a dance hall girl. Clay finds Agnes' young daughter alone in the town, and after discovering who she is, robs Duke to provide money for her care. Duke, not knowing Clay's identity, sends his bouncer out to shoot Clay, but the latter recovers and returns to the gambling palace to confront Duke and Agnes. The ensuing fistfight between the men goes badly for the wounded Clay until a drunkard whom Duke had victimized saves Clay's life by killing Duke. Finally, Clay and Agnes are united.
