Synopsis

Bob Thornton, an American athlete working his way through college, spends his summer vacation stoking on a trans-Atlantic liner, and on his last return voyage, he agrees to exchange identities with the Prince of Libania, who is sought by a group of conspirators from his country headed by Sonia Kerchoff, seeking revenge for her father's death. The plotters arrange to meet Bob in New York, but Sonia finds him so attractive that she is unable to poison him. Petrovitch, one of her cohorts, induces Bob to join them in a party, and he is attacked by thugs but is saved by Sonia. At a ball in his honor, Bob is forced into a duel with Alexis, whose brother was maimed by the prince, and in a swashbuckling encounter he subdues Alexis. They receive word of the prince's departure, and in an exciting climax, Bob saves him from a watery grave; with a reward from the prince, Bob and Sonia yield to their mutual love.
