Synopsis
On August 1, 1976, eighteen people from New Hampshire were arrested for demonstrating at Seabrook, the site of a proposed nuclear power plant. In spite of opposition from the local communities, the company had broken ground at one of the state's most delicate tidal estuaries. So within days, the group founded the Clamshell Alliance and vowed to oppose the plant's construction in a peaceful protest. Their methods and success in organizing their group were later used by other who opposed the expanding nuclear power program in America.
