Synopsis
The famous Italian detective Guila Ferrati is sent by the Italian government to trail members of the Mafia who have landed in America. After these two resume their criminal activities in New York, a bootblack named Tony overhears the Chief Inspector of the police talking to Ferrati. Tony goes to the Mafia's den and reports that Ferrati is in town. After Ferrati visits a saloon frequented by the Mafia, he is lured to a secluded house and killed. Meanwhile, Aramatti Lattori, a wealthy Italian merchant, receives letters from the Black Hand threatening the kidnapping of his child unless he delivers a large sum of money to them. The subsequent kidnapping climaxes into a series of incidents, including the throwing of a bomb, which sets the city in an uproar. Then, through clever ruses and daring exploits, Detective Lieutenant Cavanaugh, of Italian parentage, rescues the child and rounds up the gang, and the two Mafia members are delivered to representatives of the Italian government for extradition.
