Synopsis

Young chief Lone Wolf and his sister Na-ta-le, whose people died of "spotted sickness," are adopted by woodsman Anthony Briggs, who lives in isolation in the Canadian North Woods. Briggs's wife left with the lumber camp foreman, Robert Lacey, for New York, where she died in poverty. Years later, Briggs's daughter, Yvonne Lacombe, an artist and heartbreaker of the Bohemian set, returns with a hunting party, including her fiancé, Lacey's son Reynard. When Wolf helps Yvonne after an accident, she accepts a wager that she can capture Wolf's heart. She paints his portrait and wins the bet, leaving Wolf brokenhearted. After Reynard betrays Na-ta-le, Wolf interrupts the wedding of Reynard and Yvonne, demanding satisfaction. He pursues Reynard, who goes to Na-ta-le's cabin, and while he and Briggs fight, Na-ta-le is accidentally shot and killed. As Wolf pursues Reynard, Yvonne discovers that she is Briggs' daughter and is part Indian. After Wolf hurls Reynard over a precipice during a knife fight, he returns to discover Yvonne waiting.
