Synopsis

To enliven her impoverished, humdrum existence Julia Merrifield spends 2 weeks at a luxury resort under the guise of a society girl. She meets wealthy Robert Addis and falls in love with him, but they are separated in a train wreck. Back at her job, Julia finds life is as it was until she realizes that she is being sought by her villainous husband, David Usher, who deserted her more than a year earlier. To escape him she shoulders the blame for the embezzlement committed by a friend, then takes a job as a nurse to elderly Mrs. Cameron. Julia discovers that there is a plot by Usher against Mrs. Cameron, whose nephew is none other than Robert Addis. Though threatened by Usher, she reveals the evidence--thus saving Mrs. Cameron's life--and is united with Robert when Usher is killed by detectives.
