Synopsis

Catherine Kimberly, the unruly and spoiled daughter of millionaire Grant Kimberly, has never learned the meaning of the word "no." One night, when she crashes a college banquet, John Henry determines to tame her. While holding her captive during an airplane ride, John extracts a promise of marriage from the difficult Catherine. After the ceremony, she attempts to run away but John abducts her and takes her to his lumber camp where he imposes every possible hardship upon her. Rebellious Catherine retaliates by hiring Rosky, the town's villain to beat up her husband, but her plan backfires when he attacks her instead. John comes to her rescue and Catherine finally realizes that she has grown to love the man who has domesticated her.

Notes

Reviewers noted that the story of this film was suggested by William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. Some scenes were shot at Lake George, NY and at the Triangle studios in Riverdale, NY. Louis Meyer, president of Virginia Pearson Photoplays, Inc. should not be confused with Louis B. Mayer, who was also a producer at this time and later became the head of M-G-M.
