Synopsis
While at work on a book, a young college professor, Alec Dupree, is interrupted in succession by three well-meaning friends, who talk him into entertaining three women at dinner on the same evening. One of the women is a wealthy widow interested in saving the college, which is almost defunct; another is the wife of a friend; and the third is a beautiful young girl with whom Alec falls hopelessly in love. In trying to entertain all three, Alec involves himself in a net of scandal, misunderstanding, and disgrace, from which he finally extricates himself by fast-talking and high-stepping, ending up his evening with the beautiful young girl.
