Synopsis

Clarissa Janeway, the carefree daughter of an aristocratic New England family, irritates her sedate grandmother with her droves of suitors and by opening a hot dog stand along the old Boston Post Road to help Danny, crippled in the war. Her grandmother finds this situation a reflection on the family name and wants to marry Clarissa off to Van Breamer, from another pioneer family of Cape Cod, but she is interested in Jeff, a handsome truckdriver. Clarissa is about to accept Van Breamer at a party when she hears the horn of Jeff's truck and goes to greet him; overhearing two bootleggers plotting to hijack Jeff's truck, she follows in her roadster and finds him bound and gagged by the road; then, through a ruse, the two stop the truck and capture the bootleggers. At the Janeway home, Jeff is recognized as the son of another prominent family, and Grandmother is pacified by their happy romance.
