Synopsis

The Travers sisters move to New York in search of a stage career. Shortly after their arrival, Gloria's younger sister Marjorie disappears during a visit to Chinatown. After their mother dies of shock, Gloria appeals to the mayor for help. He then consults the commissioner on vice, but he secretly runs the underworld and proceeds to block all of the mayor's efforts to find the girl. After many misadventures involving the commissioner's son, who is an opium fiend, Marjorie is rescued unharmed. The mayor's interest in Gloria has since developed into love, and he asks her to be his wife.

Trivia

Notes

The film was at least partly shot by March 1920, but it is unlikely that it was released that year. It was released in May-June 1921 as Idle Hands. Photoplay Libraries was the distributor as late as March 1920, but Pioneer Film Corp. distributed the film when it was released in 1921. Rene Gerard is listed as a cast member only in pre-release trade articles. May Kitson probably played the role of Mrs. Travers, mother to Gloria and Marjorie.
