Synopsis

In order to save his family honor, Gilbert Gerard, a man of high morals, marries Gracia Brown, a young girl who was disgraced by his unscrupulous nephew, Gary Miller. Gracia, incapable of understanding her husband's high moral standards, refuses to accept the solemnity of her marriage vows. Meanwhile, Gerard meets Jean Hyland and falls in love. When Gary returns, he convinces Gracia to run away with him, and Jean, overhearing the conversation, unsuccessfully attempts to persuade the girl to remain faithful to her husband. Gary and Gracia prepare to elope, forcing Gerard finally to realize that he is not responsible for his nephew's actions. After ordering them both from his house, Gerard files for a divorce in order to be free to marry Jean.
