Synopsis
Mary Malloy, a scullery maid in a hotel, becomes acquainted with cub reporter Bob Norton, and he falls in love with her. When Mary sees a neighbor evicted, she helps by pawning an old silver goblet bearing her family crest. Two pawnbrokers plot to use Mary as a decoy when they substitute paste gems for real pearls, one posing as Lord Fitzroy, the owner of the goblet. Bob becomes suspicious and finds the real Lord Fitzroy, who is able to prove that Mary is his granddaughter. The couple live happily ever after.
