Synopsis
Lady Raffles, a society crook, is surprised during a robbery and seeks cover at the back door of an adjoining mansion. There the butler mistakes her for a temporary maid hired to serve a party celebrating the homecoming of Warren Blake, the son of the mistress of the household. Warren has brought with him a priceless necklace as a birthday gift to his mother. Among the guests are Lillian and Dick, two shrewd jewel thieves. They recognize Lady Raffles and conclude that she is there on the same mission that brought them. The two crooks break the necklace while attempting to steal it, and it is sent out of reach for repairs. During the course of the evening Warren falls in love with Lady Raffles and eventually asks for her hand, in spite of assertions from Lillian and Dick that she is a thief. When Lillian and Dick try to sever the engagement by framing Lady Raffles, their plan fails, they are jailed, and Lady Raffles is cleared of all suspicion before her wedding. In the final reel she reveals herself as an agent of Scotland Yard.
