Synopsis

The declining Western mining town La Mesa is plagued by a mysterious masked holdup man called The Collector. The Bostonian, who rides into La Mesa on a stage robbed by The Collector, becomes a town deputy and is attracted to The Tigress, a tough dance hall owner who in turn falls in love with a stranger called The Gent. Taking The Tigress' money on the pretext of finding them a place to settle down, The Gent buys himself a casino in the boom town of Bravos. When The Tigress discovers The Gent's deception, The Bostonian reveals himself a detective who has finally found proof that The Gent and The Collector are the same. The Tigress journeys to Bravos to confront The Gent, and in the ensuing quarrel she shoots him and causes his casino to burn. Unable to accept The Bostonian's love, the grieving Tigress departs alone.

Notes

Contemporary reviews state that the characters of The Tigress and The Bostonian are united at the ending, but an existing print ends with the two separating.
