Synopsis

Pending her engagement to William Chase, a wealthy Londoner, English aristocrat Nancy Abbott visits Canada and there meets Blair Cornwall, a rancher whom she comes to love but for whom she will not accept a life of hardship. On her return voyage, her ship, on which he also sails, is sunk by a mine, and the two save themselves on a piece of wreckage. In a moment of terror she swears her love, but when a ship is sighted she requests that she be rescued alone, and Blair conceals himself. Before her marriage to Chase, Nancy reencounters Blair, who is using an assumed name, and at her wedding she collapses at the altar, declaring that she loves another man. Just before his departure for Australia, she and Blair are reunited.
