Synopsis
Arriving in Texas with only a few dollars, Sam Potter puts his youth and determination to good use, works hard, and eventually becomes an oil millionaire. Potter accepts an invitation from boyhood friends to visit England, whence he continues his journey to Egypt in the company of his daughter. There a deathbed confession by Lord Annerly clears Potter of a crime for which he has been sought, and Lady Annerly ends Potter's life as a widower. (Reviews mention a revolution in Egypt, but they are too vague to determine Potter's relation to it.)
