Synopsis

While at the stockyard in Kansas City, Billy and Nick are counting the last heads of steer for the Circle-Bar ranch. Bill receives a letter of payment from the ranchowner, John Blake, enclosing stock originally valued at $300,000 but now worth only $3, with the explanation that he is broke, his ranch is sealed tight by the sheriff, and this worthless stock is all he has left. Bill, disheartened, and Nick, who is as always hungry, go to a luncheonette, where Mary, the sympathetic waitress, gives them a free meal. It's love at first sight for Bill and Mary, but she is stunned and confused when she sees Bill's stock certificate bearing the name of John Blake, her father, whom she has not seen for many years. All ends well with the discovery of oil on the Blake ranch, with Mary united with her father and engaged to Bill, and with Nick hungry, as usual.
