Synopsis

When Louis "The Greyhound" Fellman's gambling house is raided, "Deep Sea Kitty" Doyle convinces him that his wife Claire tipped off the police. Wanting revenge, Fellman returns home to find that Claire, despondent over his criminal activities, is about to kill herself. Fellman then makes a suicide pact with her but does not drink his share of the poison. A short time later, the unconscious Claire is found and revived by McSherry, a reformed gambler, who buys two steamship tickets to England to lift her spirits. Aboard the same ship, Fellman, Kitty, and their cronies, "Whispering Alex" and "The Pale-Face Kid," are about to swindle the wealthy Allen family. McSherry uncovers the scheme, however, and exposes the entire gang, after which Fellman, thinking that he sees Claire's ghost, falls overboard to his death. Once they arrive in England, McSherry and Claire make plans for a new life together.
