Synopsis

After her mother dies, Ambrosia goes to live with her austere, unloving aunt, whose only eccentricity is her devotion to an Indian swami. As a result, she naturally enlists the swami's aid when her daughter decides to marry a man who has no money. The swami hypnotizes the daughter and orders her to break the engagement; and then, seeing a chance to collect a fortune, he kidnaps her. Ambrosia, however, with the help of the boy next door, discovers where the daughter is being held captive, after which she turns the swami over to the police. Aware of how Ambrosia has helped her, the aunt becomes loving and, after accepting her niece into the family, finally consents to her daughter's marriage.
