Synopsis
Jack Calvert bets four friends that he can travel from New York to Constantinople without a cent. Starting out penniless, Jack meets Betty Mason, disguised as a tramp, who has run away from her home to escape marrying the man designated by her father. Assuming that no woman could survive the arduous journey, Jack believes that Betty is a man and the two embark upon a series of adventures which take them to an island of cannibals and pit them against unscrupulous South Sea traders. Finally arriving in Constantinople in time to win the bet, Jack is astonished to discover that his traveling companion is a woman.
