Synopsis

Louisiana Rogers lives in the Blue Ridge mountains with her father Lem, a widower, whose rough appearance and rude manners hide a kind heart. After he turns away Louisiana's suitor, Cass Floyd, Lem sends her to a resort in the valley for her to see the world and acquire some refinement. At the resort, Olivia Ferol, a New York society woman, gives Louisiana her gowns when she sees that the girl is embarrassed wearing mountain clothes. Later, as a joke, she introduces her as a New Orleans belle to her brother Lawrence, a playwright. After Cass shoots Lawrence, and Louisiana nurses him, they fall in love. In the mountains, Lawrence, Louisiana, and Olivia have car trouble and stop at Louisiana's house. She makes her father pretend not to know her, but she reveals her identity when Lawrence jokes about the surroundings. Later, after Lawrence returns to apologize, and Louisiana saves him when Cass shoots at him again, the lovers are reconciled.
