Synopsis

Two lost prospectors, MacDonald and Elliott, meet Farrell O'Neil, a hermit who lives in the Yukon. O'Neil, crazed with desire for gold, starts a fight with MacDonald and Elliott, and they accidently kill him. Afraid to confess because they are unknown in the community, the two men take possession of the old man's mine. Sheila, O'Neil's daughter, arrives to find him dead; she soon runs out of funds and is forced to take a job in a dancehall. The two men befriend her, hoping to conceal their slaughter of her father. Both fall in love with her, but when she chooses Elliott, the younger of the two, MacDonald tells the sheriff about their crime. Seeing that it was a clear case of self-defense, the sheriff exonerates them both, and MacDonald leaves the lovers to their happiness.
