Notes
This was the first film of Guy Empey Pictures Corp., also known as Guy Empey Productions. The film was shot at the Paragon studio in Fort Lee, NJ. Some scenes were shot in Shreveport, LA, in oil fields near Shreveport, at Caddo Lake, and in the oil boom town of Homer, LA. The film was previewed under the title Oil in April 1920 by officials of Guy Empey Pictures Corp. A pre-release showing of Oil was given in Shreveport before August 1920. By November 1920, the film's name had been changed to Liquid Gold, and the Pioneer Film Corp. had acquired the rights to it. However, there is no indication that the film was released under the title Liquid Gold. The film was released under the title A Millionaire for a Day by the Pioneer Film Corp. in 1921.
