Synopsis
The young and pretty Martha Sellers arrives in a small town near Ossining, New York, rents a house, and hires Jim Ransom, the town drunkard, as her handyman. Her mysterious personality excites the suspicion of the local gossips, headed by Percival Peevy. When they learn that her mail comes from Sing Sing Prison, they demand that she be driven from town. Martha treats Jim with such kindness that he begins to reform himself. Finally he confesses that he is guilty of the crime for which Martha's husband is serving time and turns himself over to the law. Martha, who never doubted her husband's innocence, is reunited with him.
