Gang leader Chester Van Arland learns that a $20,000 shipment of gold will be sent on a midnight flight to Washington. After he obtains the war cross won in France by Mail Service aviator Wallie Mason, which had been lost by Mason's sweetheart, Beryl Caruthers, Van Arland induces Mason to show him the route that the plane with the gold takes in return for the cross. Mason's friend and fellow Mail Service flyer, Larry Cassidy, learns about the hold-up plans and chases the plane. After Mason dies in a crash, Larry pursues Van Arland, who has kidnapped Beryl.
