Synopsis

Zoe and Theodore Blundell reach a period in their married life when each tires of the other's company. Over her husband's objections, Zoe seeks diversion in other men, which transforms discontent into open warfare between the married couple. Finally, Zoe leaves for Italy, where she is followed by Leonard Ferris, an old admirer. In Zoe's absence, Theodore moves in with the young widow Annerly. When Zoe returns to effect a reconciliation, Theodore refuses to forgive her infidelity and sends her back to Ferris. After learning that Ferris is secretly engaged to another woman, Zoe throws herself from an open window, only to wake up and realize that the entire episode was a nightmare. Properly chagrined, Zoe reconciles with Theodore.
