Synopsis

Billy Martin, arriving in New York to invest $100,000 of his father's money in a munitions contract, is lured into a gambling house where he meets Zena, an alluring woman who entices him to try his luck at the roulette wheel. After losing all but $15,000, Zena drags him from the casino, but he returns to the casino, determined to win back his losses, only to lose everything. Meanwhile, Billy's wife, receiving no word from her husband, comes to New York looking for him, but he refuses to return home until he has recovered his father's money. Zena, who has fallen in love with Billy, returns to the casino, determined to retrieve his losses. There she meets Billy's father, Mr. Martin, whom she lures back to her apartment, with the expectation that she can extort the funds from him. Instead, Billy arrives at Zena's apartment to find her embracing his father, and the elder Martin tells him that he did this to expose her treachery. Thus freed from Zena's spell, Billy begs for his father's forgiveness and returns home, no longer the New York peacock.
